In Generic Regions, they can create any hierarchy level and set up any type of classification with different elements of the network, such as NBIOT, ROUTER, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Example:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the user can create a region using only sites. This means that any cells added to the site will be in the same region to create KPIs. The same can happen if the user wants to create a region using only cells.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"HOW_TO_USE\"><strong>HOW TO USE<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span id=\"Import_region\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>Import region<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To create a region in this feature there are two main steps required:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exporting the ID of the elements you desire to include in the new region.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Importing the template to create the generic region.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Generic-Regions-how-to-use.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1112\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Generic-Regions-how-to-use.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"302\" height=\"223\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, the user can add any type of element present in the treeview.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its use is similar to region creation on NetChart. The user just needs to click on the <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Add Region<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> option, bellow Generic Regions or Generic User Regions, and select the element that will be added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Restrictions\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>Restrictions<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To create a Generic Region it is important to notice that the user can only add elements of the same type.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Generic-Regions-restrictions.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1113\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Generic-Regions-restrictions.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"236\" height=\"93\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the figure above, a Generic Region was created using VUSN as type. That means that only VUSN elements can be added to the region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, this feature does not work for Multivendor. This means, that the user will have to test different levels of elements for each vendor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Drag_and_drop\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>Drag and drop<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>There is also the possibility to create a Generic Region by dragging and dropping elements from the treeview &#8211; the same way it is done when creating normal regions in NetChart.<\/p>\n<p>To see the step by step on how to do it, you can access the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/?page_id=267\" target=\"_blank\">Manage Regions Help page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"USE_CASES\"><strong>USE CASES<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As said before, in the Generic Regions feature, the user can create regions with elements that are not in the controller, site, cell hierarchy, such as NBIOT and ROUTER.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Creating_an_NBIOT_region\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>Creating an NBIOT region<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>1 \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>First, select the element type in the treeview. Here, we choose an NBIOT element to create a specific region for them.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/pic-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1108\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/pic-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"349\" height=\"296\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>2\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Go to the menu <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Custom<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, select the <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Generic Regions<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> option and click on <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Export Elements ID<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/pic-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1109\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/pic-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"347\" height=\"269\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>3\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Click on <\/span><b>GO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the Export Regions tab. It will take some time for the system to generate the archive for download.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/pic-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1110\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/pic-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"915\" height=\"494\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>4\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>After you download the archive, open it. The document will be created in the format below:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Exemplo-doc-gerado.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1099\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Exemplo-doc-gerado.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"820\" height=\"484\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>5\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Fill the first column (selected in red in the image above) with the name of the region that will be imported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>6\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>So, you can fill it with the name of the regions you want to test, for example, Regions A and B:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Exemplo-doc-coluna-preenchida.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1098\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Exemplo-doc-coluna-preenchida.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"499\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>7\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>After the document is ready, save it in .txt extension.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>8\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Go to the menu <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Custom<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, select the <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Generic Regions<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> option and click on <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Import Elements ID<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>NOTE:<\/b><\/span> This functionality offers the user a template option that he can use to avoid any type of error. So, both archives (the one exported and the one imported) will have the same header to help the user identify them easier.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/pic-4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1111\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/pic-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"898\" height=\"460\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><strong>9\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Click on <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Choose File<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and upload the document created.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Import-regions.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1107\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Import-regions.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1038\" height=\"504\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><br \/>\n10 \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Click on <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>GO <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the region will be created to the vendor you selected.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image_2020_01_23T13_46_22_828Z-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1114\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image_2020_01_23T13_46_22_828Z-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1093\" height=\"466\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><br \/>\n11 \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>The new Generic Region created will appear below the <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Generic User Region<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> item in the treeview with its subfolders (Region A, Region B, and so on &#8211; following the names given in the first column of the imported document).<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/generic-region-subpastas.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1100\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/generic-region-subpastas.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"403\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>NOTE:<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Remember, this feature does not work for Multivendor. You have to test different levels of elements for each vendor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span id=\"The_Import_Regions_Treeview_ID_menu\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The Import Regions Treeview ID menu<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When importing a region, the user will have three options to select:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image_2020_01_23T13_47_56_180Z.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1105\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image_2020_01_23T13_47_56_180Z.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"646\" height=\"113\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Merge conflicting regions:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it puts all the archive elements in the region created, merging the conflicted ones.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Clean conflicting regions:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it cleans all the elements in the conflicting region and put the new ones in the created region. This option maintains de region ID.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Delete conflicting regions:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it deletes the conflicting region an creates a new one, with a new ID.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><span id=\"COMMON_ERRORS\"><strong>COMMON ERRORS<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Importing a .txt archive with data missing, such as excluding the document\u2019s header.<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Erro-header.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1097\" src=\"https:\/\/help.bwtech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Erro-header.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"912\" height=\"212\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creating a Generic Region with elements that are not from the same type.
